Leadership Changes in Our Vision Department

We are pleased to announce some upcoming leadership changes in our vision department.

As you may know, Charles River Community Health partners with the New England College of Optometry (NECO) to provide vision care to our patients. Through that relationship, NECO faculty members and clinicians act not only as department leaders and clinicians here at CRCH, but also oversee NECO’s educational program for Optometry Students.

For the past eight years, Dr. Jonathon Jimmerson has served in the role of Director of Vision Services. He started out as a student seeing patients at our previous location in Brighton almost 15 years ago. In 2015, he joined our team as the Vision Director and was actively engaged as we transitioned to a new home at 495 Western Ave. From there, we have been fortunate to grow the department with an increase in disease management, pediatric care, collaboration among departments, a strong Optical staff, and clinical research and optometric education.

As of July 1, 2023, Dr. Jimmerson will be assuming a larger role in Clinical Education at the New England College of Optometry which has given rise to the opportunity for a new Vision Director. We are very pleased to announce that Dr. Hilary Gaiser will assume this role beginning July 1. Dr. Gaiser has been an integral part of the team here at CRCH over the past five years, and brings a great amount of knowledge and skill, and a desire to further our mission in community health. We congratulate her on the new position and thank Dr. Jimmerson for his years of service as the lead for the department. Dr. Jimmerson will continue to see patients in Brighton on a very part-time basis with a focus on ocular disease and the expansion of glaucoma care here at CRCH.
